populated municipality in Tenerife. That figure alone tells us very little about what we are likely to find when we lift an inspection chamber cover. What really determines the type of work required is the area.<\/p>\n<p>The coastal strip \u2014Playa de las Am\u00e9ricas, Las Galletas, Costa del Silencio and Palm-Mar\u2014 is home to apartment blocks and residential complexes built in different phases since the 1970s. Shared systems are the key issue here: communal downpipes, shared inspection chambers and booster pump systems. A blockage rarely affects just one property. In Cabo Blanco, Buzanada, La Camella, Valle de San Lorenzo, El Fraile, Guaza and Chayofa, detached homes with plots, private water tanks and sections of buried pipework are much more common \u2014 and in many cases nobody remembers exactly where those pipes run.<\/p>\n<p>Then there is rural Arona, with the historic town centre sitting at around 600 metres above sea level.
